Shady hot day at the cottage SOLD
6" x 12", Mixed medial  (acrylic, paper towel, tin foil, water colour paper) on canvas
Stone Heron Gallery
This is an abstracted nature piece similar to one I have posted previously and completed around the same time.  It is the view from my cottage looking out over the water.  I find mixed medial fun to do and the textures are quite rewarding.

Cottage life.  SOLD
6" x 12", Acrylic on canvas
Stone Heron Gallery
This piece was FUN to paint.  If you look closely enough you might be able to see that I used paper towel, tin foil, and water colour paper in the painting.  First, I made layers with these materials.  Then I did an under painting, followed by an over painting.  It is a fairly abstract depiction of the view from my parent's cottage in the Canadian Shield.  This piece falls into the category of what I call patterns in nature. It has a very geometric feel to it.  Some people think these are birches but they are actually pines.

Purplexed, SOLD
18" x 18", Acrylic and mixed media on canvas
Stone Heron Gallery

This painting was my first attempt at mixed media in acrylic with these barnlife paintings. In the foreground I have used feather and water colour ripped into strips. I really like the background and the fluorescent pink under painting peaking through.
